Overview
Well before the product left the drawing board our production engineers
have already ensured the component meets exacting criteria. By creating a
virtual component, then using mathematical modelling we can examine
issues such as cavity fill and feed optimisation. This also ensures that the
component requirements can be met by the selected manufacturing process.
The following is a typical design through to production schedule:
Starting with an outline of the customer enquiry which includes
- Existing product sample
- Options to reduce cost
- Alternative process (high pressure) recommended
- Component redesigned to suit process, this requires taking mass
out of wall thickness
- Customer evaluation of strength characteristics
- Alternative alloy recommended for strength requirments.
